What makes the shimmer? What does iridescent actually mean? And what do these go with?
Iridelle's cracked-glass charm bracelets are the collection that started the brand. Each bracelet uses beads with a genuine fractured glass interior — a technique where the inside of the bead is deliberately cracked before sealing, creating hundreds of tiny reflective surfaces that scatter light differently depending on the angle. Stand indoors and the shimmer reads soft and purple. Step into sunlight and it shifts to gold, green, and pink. That's what iridescent means in practice: not a single colour, but a shifting one.
The charms — butterfly wings, angel-wing pendants, crescent moons, and seasonal drops — are added as a separate accent on the bead strand, not a separate lobster-clasp link. The result is a bracelet that feels more cohesive and sits flatter on the wrist than traditional charm bracelets.
These are made in small batches in Bangalore. No two are identical — slight variations in bead shimmer intensity and shade are natural, not defects. Stock per design is limited. If a colorway sells out, it isn't always restocked, so check back regularly for seasonal drops or follow @iridelle on Instagram to catch them first.
Styling-wise: these sit right at the centre of the soft-girl, angelcore, and Y2K aesthetic revival that's driving beaded jewellery back into mainstream fashion in India right now. They work with everything from ethnic wear (the iridescence complements silk and chikankari textures beautifully) to casual streetwear. One cracked-glass charm bracelet plus two plain Cracked Glass Stackables is the easiest wrist stack you'll ever put together.
Stacking tip
Use one charm bracelet as the centrepiece, then add one or two plain Cracked Glass Stackables in matching or contrasting colorways alongside it — or swap one for a Dainty Chain Bracelet on the outer edge for metal-vs-bead contrast. Keep it to two or three pieces total; a small, intentional group looks more considered than a crowded wrist.
Also in the cracked-glass family
A cracked-glass bead has a deliberately fractured interior — the glass inside is broken into hundreds of tiny reflective surfaces before the bead is sealed. This makes the bead scatter light at multiple angles simultaneously, creating the shifting, rainbow-ish shimmer called iridescence. It's different from a regular coloured glass bead, which has a single flat colour, or a crystal bead, which is clear and faceted. The iridescent effect changes based on ambient light — subtle indoors, vivid in direct sunlight.
The bead's outer glass shell is intact and sealed — the 'cracking' is only the interior surface finish. This means the bead is as structurally sound as a regular glass bead. For normal everyday wear (wearing, removing, gentle handling) they hold up well. We'd recommend removing them before swimming, heavy exercise, or applying body lotion directly on the beads, as extended moisture and chemical exposure can gradually affect the bead finish. With basic care, they'll last for regular daily use.
Iridescent materials shift between soft, organic colours (pinks, purples, golds, blues) depending on the light angle. Holographic materials show a sharper, more geometric rainbow pattern that repeats — the kind you see on holographic stickers or gift wrap. Iridelle's cracked-glass beads are iridescent, not holographic. The effect is softer, less flashy, and more wearable as everyday jewellery.
Soft-girl, angelcore, and Y2K are the most on-point aesthetics, but these work well beyond those specific aesthetics too. The iridescent shimmer pairs naturally with soft tones (lavender, blush, white, cream) and also reads well against darker tones as a contrast piece. Many customers wear them with traditional Indian outfits — silk, chiffon, and embroidered fabrics — because the shimmer catches light in a way that complements rather than competes. If in doubt: they go with most things and the charm detail keeps them interesting without being loud.
Current and past charm designs include butterfly wings, angel-wing accents, crescent moons, star pendants, and seasonal limited drops. Charm availability changes with each collection update. Follow @iridelle on Instagram for new charm drop announcements, or check back on this page — new designs are added when the previous batch sells out.
Yes, and it looks great. Since most people wear one to three bracelets at a time, a popular combination is 1 charm bracelet + 1–2 plain Cracked Glass Stackables. The charm bracelet acts as the focal piece and the stackables add shimmer, or you can swap a stackable for a Dainty Chain Bracelet so the thin metal creates texture contrast. A Stone Bead Bracelet in a neutral earth tone also grounds the iridescent colours — a matte stone bead next to iridescent glass beads is an underrated contrast.
